The car was packed and we were ready to leave when I began spotting and immediately became concerned. We contacted the perinatologist on call at Hopkins and she wanted to see me before we left for vacation as spotting could be a sign of going into pre-term labor and I was only 24 weeks. I was going to be completely destroyed if they gave us bad news and we would have to tell Brody we couldn't go to the Myrtle Beach...it would have broken my heart.
They monitored Caleb for a while and performed an ultrasound. It was concluded that the bleeding was a result of the complete placenta previa and I needed to take it easy until my next appointment on July 14th, at which time they will re-evaluate.
We arrived home to Brody that night and told him we would be leaving first thing in the morning and the smile on his face was contagious.
